The thing nobody explains

SOAT is mandatory.
That doesn’t mean it covers everything.

Colombia’s mandatory traffic-accident insurance addresses covered personal injuries. Damage to your own car, theft, and other protections may require a separate voluntary policy. Details depend on policy wording and applicable rules.

What you’re probably wondering

Good questions.
Straight answers.

Can you compare Colombian insurers instantly?+

Not yet. Live carrier comparisons require approved insurer access or authorized partner relationships. Any actual quotes must come from appropriately authorized providers.

Are you an insurer or licensed Colombian broker?+

No. This is an early-stage expat insurance-information and support concept. We do not claim a Colombian intermediary license, insurer appointment, or authority to sell, bind, issue, or administer policies.

Do I need SOAT and other car insurance?+

SOAT is Colombia’s mandatory traffic-accident personal-injury insurance. It does not replace voluntary coverage for your vehicle, theft, or other protections.

Can renters protect their belongings?+

Potentially. Product availability, eligibility, deductibles, exclusions, and covered property depend on the insurer and specific policy.

Is pet insurance available in Colombia?+

Yes. Colombian insurers offer pet insurance products, although veterinary benefits, accidents, illnesses, liability, waiting periods, age limits, exclusions, and provider networks vary by policy. We can help you understand the questions to ask an authorized provider.

Can you help after an accident?+

We provide general process guidance and help organize your questions. We do not decide coverage, adjust Colombian claims, provide legal representation, or promise any outcome.

Can I ask everything in English?+

Absolutely. The experience is English-first, with Spanish-language coordination where available.
